The LuHi Pod

Sept 8 - Access and Support Plans with Mrs Williams and Mrs Homami

Lutheran High School, Colorado Season 5 Episode 5

This week, two brand new guests join the podcast! Heather Homami, Support Plan Coordinator, and Kalia Williams, Access (Academic Success) Teacher, are on to talk about the accommodations LuHi can provide to students on support plans. They walk us through the differences between IEPs and 504s, the basics of the process families walk through to get on a 504 or IEP, and how students are supported once they are at LuHi.

If you would like some additional info on Access at LuHi, please check out this blog post: https://www.lhsparker.org/blog/what-resource-class-is-individualized-support

Zoeller and Hannah skip the lukewarm take to update everyone on new bumper stickers they have become aware of. It's your typical dose of pre-show randomness.

If you have a student interested in recording the verse of the week and announcements, please have them email podcast@lhsparker.org or visit the Office (located next to the student printer). We'd love to have them!
